Yes, these work with most hd tv's. Also, if you happen to have an HDTV such as a Samsung witch is plagued with delay (game images are delayed when scaled to big screen) then using this cable (or an HDMI cable) will bypass that problem. Your surround sound should work fine with this.Johnny-Torque
