I have recently bought a Vizio 32'' lcd hdtv model VW32l and I was wondering how the Xbox 360 would look connected through the VGA cable compared to the Component thanks.

I use a vga connection on my 32" Samsung LCD and the difference was very noticeable. Just remember that the VGA cable breaks the sound off to a red and white RCA connection so you'll need something to plug that in to. Either that or you can run the sound out optically for 5.1. In short its worth the money.

I use a VGA cable with mine the only problem I have with it is that the colors seem a little washed out and it doesn't automatically detect your TV's resolution, so it goes by the default fullscreen 480i setting; you'll actually have to figure out how to solve both on your own once its plugged in.

The VGA cables, if you can manual fix the washed out look on your own through the system menus, can scale the resolutions to 1080p wmuch better than component cables can. It's not HDMI, but it can get up there.

My HDTV's native resolution is 1366 x760 so how much better would it look using VGA apposed to component.

it all depends on the TV...some do VGA well, some don't...best way is to test and see what looks better to you

It will look sharper and slightly more washed out. The latter can be countered by setting 'Reference Levels' in the dashboard display options to 'Expanded.

I don't know how good it will look on your TV model but as Vizio is a budget brand, don't expect the best viewing angles and colours etc. VGA sharpness should still hold true. You'll have to find out how your TV displays over VGA though as sometimes you may find the image is rescaled which will introduce more jaggies than normal.

I've had the VGA cable for months now and there isn't a huge difference when gaming. The colors on my TV do get washed out and even with the reference levels in the system blade set to expanded, I'm not completely satisfied. I went back to component cables for gaming, but use the VGA cable when watching movies since DVD's get upscaled that way.

There's always something I forget - yes, DVD's are upscaled too. To be honest, as nice as the colours look over Component, they're not realistic so I doubt you'll be disappointed oblivion.
