Actually, it's not a lot of money for a good wheel. Look at prices over the years, wheels have cost a lot more than that in the past.

You get what you pay for. You can buy a cheap wheel if you want, but don't expect much from it. Plus, if you don't have PGR, you do get a copy with the wheel.

I've been having quite a bit of fun with it.

I own one and it is really nice if you are talking about the official wireless microsoft one. The actual steering wheel has a good grip and such and is a pretty good size I would have preferred it a bit bigger though. It does have all the force feedback and stuff and it is very accurate. It is wireless however you do need to connect and rj45 cable or whatever from the pedals to the actual steering wheel and then also plug in the ac if you want rumble which makes it a lot more realistic. I don't really have any complaints about it and you do get a free copy of pgr3 with it,atleast i did. I only tried it with pgr3 and forza 2 and i can say it is excellent on forza 2 as for pgr3 it works really well just that pgr3 is sort of an arcade racer so it is a bit weird. Very Nice overall and I would definately recommend it to anyone.
