i was wondering can you use any wireless network adapter to connect your 360 to the internet or do you have to buy the $130+ adapter built for the 360?

if your xbox is close to your computer then you can connect your ethernet cord to your wireless router.

But if your xbox is far away and you want wireless internet then you must buy xbox live wireless adaptor. then attach to your adaptor to your 360 then it'll work.

you can get cheap wireless adaptors, well i bought 130$ xbox adaptor but it doesnt matter.

hope this helped/.

Yeah, you have to get the $100 adapter. Just like how you have to get a wireless card for your PC, same thing.

i had looked into this myself, trying to connect my 360 with a usb wireless adapter my friend used for his computer and it wont work becuase you cannot install the software required for the adapter to function. i read somewhere about some adapter that connects to the ethernet port and is wire and that should work becuase it doesnt require software installed on the device its plugging into but i was not able to find anything like it at stores. it seems you gotta bite the bullet and buy the xbox brand adapter.

I bought the adapter and I use a 2wire wireless router. They work perfectly. DL's are slower than direct connection though.

I bought two routers for the total of $110. Why 2? One for my PC (since I didn't even an existing network) and one for the 360. It's cheaper, faster, and lasts longer.
