For those who have it, does it fuction as a good HD DVD player or would it just be best to buy a seperate HD DVD player unit?

Thanks to all for any thoughts and input.

It works great. Its fast loading. There is probably some stand alone features or hd-dvd remote options missing, but nothing that affects the movies.

It works great if you just want to be able to play HD-DVD movies on a normal HD setup.

The standalones aren't much more (A2 can be had for about $220) with the differences being that they have very good SD-DVD upconverters and more audio codec functionality. If you don't need those, then it seems fairly simple. I have one and am very happy with it.

Get a seperate unit, they'll be more compatible and of higher quality.
