$50 a year isn't hard to afford. Sometimes when a buy a game you'll get a free 48 hour trial, if you ever come across one, try it out.

$50 is like buying a cheap 360 game. Trust me, LIVE is a must if you gat a 360 and a decent internet connection. It's not only a place to play games online with your friends, but it's also an entertainment value.(Download movies, demos, music, television shows, game news show)And the experiences are unforgetable!!!;)

the move for videogames is pushing more and more to online. therefore if you have xbl you will be able to continue the full experience of the games.

LIVE helps make games last longer, cause after I do the single player in a game I don't go back unless it's for achievements. Find and chat new people to play with online, play with friends - live is worth it.

Thanks everybody, but still, besides having to pay for Live I would have to get microsoft points, beacuse there's alomst nothing free besides the demos, besides right now I dont have any online games, and also I would like your oppinions on wether multiplayer games have good storyline as single player games do.

i would say xbl is totally worth it. you need to get some games with multiplayer though. plus in the long run it could save you money if you dl a demo and hate it when you were about to buy a game.

Demo's and game video's are free. Network TV shows and movies cost points, which only makes sense. If you don't have any online games why are you even thinking about getting Gold? There's no point until you can actually play it. Also, most games don't have a story online, it's no different from playing split screen with a friend or system link with a group of friends. You just have a full screen to work with and everyones playing together.

Xbox Live is a huge reason to why I even got Xbox. When it was coming out, I was given the option to get 360 or wait for PS3, because I had the first 2 Sony systems. All my friends had original xbox along with live, so I decided to get the 360 to play Halo with my friends. What started out as something so little, just for Halo, it grew into the only system I really use. I don't buy a lot of things with points, but playing games gets made moore enjoyable. Also, it saved my love in Crackdown, with it's downloadable content.

Agreed it really does make games longer. It's cool that you can check if your friends are online, when there last were online and what they were playing, what they are doing whenever you want is great.

YES! get it. IMO they shouldn't even sell the system without LIVE, they should include the $50 in the price of the system.

I say go for it.  It's actually a different experience.  New friends, lots of people cussing, kids calling you noob, it's great!  In all seriousness, try it out.
Hey, can someone message me to tell me how to put my gamertag as my signature?  thanks!

Live is worth it I must say. I don't have it right now but I have to wait until I get some money to buy another year. When I did have gold though it made the 360 for me and made me forget about my other consoles. Plus didn't everyone get Silver free with the 360? If you just want to download demos and stuff that is the way you would want to go. Also I thought every 360 got 1 month gold free? If you haven't activated your month yet I would use that then decide yourself if it will be a worthwhile investment.

Hey man trus me it is so worth it, especially if you got a game like Gears of War. The online play is great. just wait untill Halo3 comes out and then get online for a month and check it out and see if you like it.

I disagree, I had more fun playing Halo 2 and Gears of War offline than online, but thats my opinion.

Thanks everybody, and one last question's, are there any entertaining games in live arcade? Because right now I don't plan on getting any right now (because of bioshock coming out in less than a month), so, does any of you have had a good time with arcade?

You can get Live accounts for as low as $25 on Ebay (1 year subscriptions). The 360 without live is still worth it but Live adds TONS to each game.

think of it this way, your buying an add on for almost every game for only $50 a year which isn't all that much

Well think about it: Xbox Live costs only $4.17 a month while World of Warcraft costs $15 a month.
