Xbox 540

So apparently they are bringing out the Xbox 540 next year. A slimmer version of the 360 and possibly with a blue-ray drive in it.

Well I don't want to see it either after buying the 360 recently. THey should wait a few more years.JKoBnZ

My point is that if they made a slimmer 360, it would have more problems as there would be less room for ventilation and is not a good idea. I don't care that I already have one. I would not want it. In a few more years we will have a new generation of gaming consoles. Until then I am good with my big 360.

lol? What's with all this 540, 480, 420 business? I don't believe they will be taking "360" any further than "360" Anything further than that has no depth, do you even know why it's called 360? The next box won't be anything like that

Wow, I have to say im stunned. Quite possibly the cleverest joke i've on an internet forum, although that's not much of a compliment.

Anyway, anyone who seriously thinks the next xbox will be somewhere along the lines of 540/etc is kidding themselves. The whole story behind 360 is gaming come full circle, bigger, better, faster, etc all that standard marketing junk.

To continue that a step higher would completely shoot that in the foot, it would almost be like they were running in circles, and that's never a good pr move.

It won't be called a 540, haha. 360 isn't a random number designation, it is the amount of degrees in a sphere and is ironic in the sense that the system is called an Xbox. In that it is bigger and "bad-er" and more versatile than a square. People seem to forget this, so no the next edition of the 360 will not be a 540. It will be similar to the 360 Elite, just with a different title.

The next generation of Xbox also will not have a number designation, it will be the Xbox ___ with a title in the blank spot.

As to the actually updated 360, I don't need it. I love my 360 as it is and I do not need a Blu-Ray drive in it. Its width is also fine with me, I am not going to shell out $400-$500 so I can have the hip new 360. I'll take a pass, thanks.

Exactly. Freak, I just upgraded from premium to an Xbox 360 elite. I'm not buying Xbox 540 or whatever for Blu-Ray. That's why I have my PS3! Not only does the PS3 play Bluray but it also plays awesome games! Gee.. Should I buy another Xbox console with bluray or buy a PS3 that already comes with bluray so I could play other awesome games I cant play on the Xbox 360. Gee um.. that would be dumb of Microsoft. I would rather buy a PS3 if I didnt have one already and keep the Xbox 360 I already have.
