I just wanted to get peoples opinions on Achivements. I personally like them, it gives you that little bit more from a game(Especially from games with very little, if any,Replay value) Sure there are some that take ALOT of work and are near impossible to get but to me that makes the game all that much more enjoyable to have more challenges to.

So wanted to see other opinions on AchivementsLike or Dislike??

I like them, they give me something to shoot for in a game that I would've otherwise never even considered or knew about. Also, I remember around the time Gears 1 came out my friends and I had a race to see who could get to 20k first, of course it turned into a game of who could rent the most 2k sports fastest, but it was fun....Although now my friends are all up in the 100,000 area and I am way, way behind

For the most part they're nice and add a little replay value for me. But they can be taken too seriously. I don't care for the games that have more than half of the achievements being online achievements, if I see those I don't bother trying.

They're ok but it would be nice to be able to disable it.

Some people are ADD about them and it's unhealthy.

Well when it comes to Acheivements/Trophys I don't dislike them because I go after the easy to moderate ones but refuse to spend days or hours specificlly one Ach/Tro.

I don't mind them. I just don't get why people get so obsessed with them and compare their score to others like it's some sort of war medal. It's just a score. It's like kids in a playground arguing about who has the biggest ... well, you know.

Why would you dislike them? They do not negatively impact the game in any way. If you do not wish to earn them then you don't have to. You can even ignore them by turning off the notifications for them. There is no reason to dislike them.

You can't not earn them. Some people just take it too seriously and think the higher the Gamerscore the better person they are. The ones who buy games just to boost their Gamerscore need to get out more.

its not a big deal to me. I like getting achievements by mistake. or funny achievements for failing several times. but some are just stupid. ON "harms way" you get an achievement for just looking at the credits. that's not much of a task.

Love em, if there weren't any achievements I probably wouldn't have beaten half of the games I Own. They definitely give an added bonus play for games.

I like having goals and get bored in a game if I don't have an objective in mind. The achievement system serves as a bit of extra enticement for exploring some of the alternate content in a game.

I like them, I take spells where I really want to go after achievements, then i'll slack off and just play. It would be nice if we could get a reward for the gamerscore though.

Love em. They give me something to shoot for and open up things in the game that I probably would not have noticed or tried otherwise. And if you don't like them, they don't effect you in the least. It is a win win.

yeah they are good, I don't take them too seriously though if something takes way too long to get that isn't related to the main storyline I will probably leave it.

You can't not earn them. Some people just take it too seriously and think the higher the Gamerscore the better person they are. The ones who buy games just to boost their Gamerscore need to get out more.

So what if you can;t not earn earn them, if you have the notification turned off for them then it makes no difference. It does not effect you in the least.

And I've never once met a person who thought gamerscore made them a better person and I've had a 360 for over four years now. If anything I see people taking achievements too seriously in the opposite way in that they act like they ruined gaming.

I'm agreeing with the people who say it adds replay value =] a game is fun to play and complete...but then it's even more fun to get the most out of a game and go through it again with a bit of a game, though I must say I don't go for collectables in most games because that is just effort

I use to be obsessed with them but now I dont care as much. I still enjoy getting them but will no longer replay a game or do impossible tasks to get achievements is i dont actually want to do it. I dont have the motivation to do that stuff anymore.
