i read in an article a couple weeks ago about how all the movie companies were switching to bluray and that microsoft might end up supporting bluray instead of hd. has anyone heard anything else about this because i want to buy a ps3 just for the bluray player. if the xbox ended up playing blurays that would be great for me because i would rather have an xbox. thanks in advance for any info.

I could definitely see that being a possibility, since the format war is really starting to favor Blu-Ray. Just remember though, that 360's don't have an HD-DVD built-in now, nor will they have a Blu-Ray player built-in in the future. You'll still have to buy it as a separate add on. If you really want a Blu-Ray player now, then you might want to buy a PS3 (even though there aren't many good games available for it right now).
