Is the Xbox arcade console the same as the one included in the premium set? I know there are different accessories like the harddrive and AV cables, but what I'm asking is just the actual console--stripped of all accessories--the same thing as the one in the premium set? As far as I can tell the only difference is that the disc drive for the premium is chrome while the arcade's is white.

I want to know because my xbox just bailed on me, and my warranty isn't covered, so I thought I should just buy the arcade because I have everything else and all I need is the actual system. I just want to make sure I'm not downgrading.

Thanks

It's the same thing. The only difference is the harddrive, cables and remote. It plays the same games and everything. But I recommend getting a 360 with larger harddrive because that strips you with some of the features within the game. Example, you can't play online co-op in halo3 if you don't have a harddrive.

Oh wait if your 360 died then just get the Arcade and you're good to go. If you have all the stuff from your previous console

the arcade is really hard to recommend due to the lack of a hard drive. the console itself should be the same for all models, though. i think the arcade may be lacking in HDMI, but i don't care for something like that and if you think the same way, then it'll be a good choice. just make sure to use MS's DRM tool afterwards.

I have to say that the xbox360 premium is better than the arcade because with the arcade you cant play regular xbox game son it and it doesn't come with a harddrive you need to either buy one or buy a memory-card, which really isnt fun with not that much space!
