is it just a coicidense or could the cooling system screw up your 360.

they told me not to buy since it happened weeks after they put it on.

Ya the addon fans aren't good for the 360.  Yes the 360 gets very hot but adding on those other fans won't help it.

Cooling fans for your xbox are a waste of your time and money, they drain power to vital electrical components and void your warranty in most cases.  So just keep it well ventilated and you should be fine :)

Do not get the cooling fan attachment.  It will screw up your X360 .. it happened to a friend on mines as well (he warned me not to buy one).  Its a defective product (does more harm than good).

so i guess the cooling fans are a sort of problem that microsoft made.....

and plus they sell you stickers to put on em and face plates....but if ur xbox breaks down, i heared that if u return it to get fixed , they wont take it back.

damn microsoft is starting to get on my nerves....good for them that they got good games or else....

The colling fans were made for the purpose of making insecure people be persuaded to buy it to try and protect their investment, trust me it does the exact opposite, the 360 wasn't designed to produce enough power for both the system and the fan.

To make the air flow more fluent with your 360, make sure that its not enclosed (e.g close to wall).

I agree with the guy above my post. Get a laptop cooler, it has worked for me. I also have an external fan, the cheap ones you can get at walmart. I have one that clips on to my desk which is convenient. I placed that fan directly behind my 360. Instead of the fan blowing into my xbox, I inverted it to blow away from it. This blows the hot air away from the console. This works great, and I have had no problems with my 360.

I have tried every cooling fan out there for the 360 and they don't do jack!  So just do yourself a favor and save your money try getting a little fan just to set next to your 360. that dose a lot more for a lot less.

I got a fan stand for 10 bucks, and it's cooled things off a lil' bit and made me feel better, so I'm happy.

All a fan would do is be a less-efficient intercooler. It wouldn't really blow any air into the system or cause any more heat to leave the system. I'm going to mod my fan stand to be an USB-powered intercooler wannabe.

Maybe this is coincidence, but I sold a friend my premium, so I could buy an elite. For a year, my premium has never had a problem until I gave it to my friend. I told him to buy a laptop cooler, a 4 inch fan that you can place behind the console and some dustsprayer. He didn't listen and he just bought one of those fan stands. Well he recently got the redlights a couple of weeks ago. So we went to the store and he bought the stuff I told him to buy. Well his 360 works fine now especially spraying the dust spray. The external fan not only helps bring out heat, it also helps prevent some of the dust from sticking to the fans. He bought a 4 inch fan that you can get at target and his 360 has been working fine ever since. He takes good care of it now. I feel that the external fan works, if you use it the right way.

I didn't say exhaust fans wouldn't work, I more specifically meant a fan in front of it. I actually modded my fan stand such that it works like an intercooler but is much less noisy and doesn't draw from the PSU. It is now an exhaust fan that blows outward from the vent the cpu/gpu heat blows. (Below the Video connection)
