according to this site, yes. if true, that means the 360 will finally have xvid support and a timer to let you know the ETA of downloads. also, if true, that means ANIMATED THEMES!! WITH SOUND EFFECTS!!! and an xbla blade. here's the list:

* New language, time and date settings

Xvid is just a video format. Some other ones that I have delat with include mkv, avi, and mpeg.

god i hope so. they should integrate the zune marketplace into xbox live so you could buy music and transfer it to the zune player. they should also add downloadable movies and shows to the zune marketplace both that's a completely different matter (though it would be cool if you could download videos on live and transfer them to the zune.)

actually mkv, or matroska video/audio, is not a codec.. it's a container meaning it can hold a video file with multiple audio tracks and subtitles.

well the 360 supports all kinds of mp3 players so if they add music downloading to live, they will have to make it so that all mp3 players could support the purchased music (ie, using .mp3 instead of .wma, .ogg, .aac, .m4a, etc.)

well for me, 4 was enough but i think they want to make things easier for the user by lumping together related items. i remember a time i wanted to download movies (this was the time it had for blades) and i had to go searching for it. the same with game demos and videos. when they intro'd the xbox live blade, it made things simpler and quicker.
