came with a 20gb hd. and wen it's in, the system is a pain in the rear to connect to my wireless controller. however, without the hard drive hooked up, the controller connects normally. Also, whether the hard drive is in or not, it will not allow me to create an offline profile; when i try, it takes like 5min then a screen pops up and says: "Couldn't sign into profile. Please try again". After getting frustrated with that for awhile, i decided to try playin a game w/o saving to see if all i needed was a new hard drive. well... i tried the Kung-Fu Panda game that came with it, and it looked like sum1 punched the panda through the tv. the pixels were all f'd up. it looked like spikes were stickin out from his armpits. One last thing, b4 the actual gameplay of KFP (Kung-Fu Panda), there's a prelude of jack black talking. well my wonderful system decided it really liked wat he was saying.. so it made him repeat every 4th or 5th word like 6 times please tell me what i need to do? i dont have enough money to buy yet another one.. im currently awaiting a response email from the seller who i bought it from. Do you think i should get a new hard drive? or does it sounds beyond repair? i dont have the slightest clue what to do

What do you mean by "w/o saving"? The only way to tell if it's the hard drive is to DETACH the hard drive and try playing the game. If the game still has graphical anomalies then most likely your 360 toast. Hope it still has some warranty left on it...

yea.. i think the 360s 'toast' im pretty sure there's a warranty, but it's possible he sends me another. because he has lots and lots of the same thing i bought. mayb not tho and to answer your first question, i clicked the 'continue w/o saving' option

Yup. Sell the 360 to Gamestop, buy a 360 from somewhere otehr than Ebay(NEVER buy hardware from Ebay) and use your credit from the 360 to buy games.

i kno this is dishonest... but i was thinkin buy a brand new one from walmart (the store is horrible to their workers anyway) then swap em, and return it cus "it didnt work" and if the serial number is an issue, i could swap the insides as well

That's why you must look over the items carefully.. I use Ebay constantly. How is that so surprised the TC did that? My first 360 I got used off Ebay, it worked perfect and I loved it, but I just upgraded to an Elite. I use ebay for everything.

I guess. That's pretty under-handed though.

It sounds like a HDD problem to me too. Try another hard drive, stop messing up your console anymore with that one. Just reformat the whole thing if anything. Considering how inexpensive an XBOX is, I don't know why someone would take the chance on a used one.

I got my RROD Elite off ebay for $20, then put together an X-clamp fix for under $20. It was to replace my Elite that was stolen from my house. The RROD Elite has been running problem free for almost a year now. I was fortunate enough to know it was pooched when I bought it though. I had the misfortune once of buying a car amplifier on ebay, that didn't turn out so great.

Don't stoop to that, you can save up and buy a $200 arcade. Whether they're good to thier workers or not, it's a pretty douche thing to do.

Did the guy say anything about it being broken on ebay? If not shouldn't you be allowed to get a refund for it?

Guess that's one of the pitfalls of ebay... don't know if you have any contractual rights there buddy. I'd spam the hell out of his email and put his user rating wayyyyy down on ebay.

Wow, never buy a 360 system from Ebay they could have sold you a RROD system or one with many hardware probs, the messed up pixels to me is not a Harddrive issue, but one caused by your graphics card, hate to be so blunt, but expect it to Red Ring on you shortly.

If the listing says in perfect working condition you are in your right to get your money back, if he dosnt reply you open a dispute with Paypal.

Yup... most common cause of artefacts lick those spikes is the GPU overheating.. and if its overheating then you are two steps away from getting the RROD... sounds like the seller has had the RROD in the past used and used the (very dangerous, but sometimes resulting in short lived success) towel trick.
