Ya my exhaust vent gets real hot as well. Its almost on the verge of being "hot" vs being warm. As long as you keep it away from tight spaces it should be fine...unless your console is just doomed to get RRoD anyways. Also keep the console off the carpet and keep the power supply (big brick on power cord) off the carpet and out in the open as well.

Dont worry about it getting hot. Unless you see smoke coming out of the vents, then there's something wrong ;) Obviously, turn off your 360 if you're going to go on a 4 day camping trip or if you are going to some other country. I recommend turning on the option at the dashboard that turns off your 360 after 6hrs of inactivity.

That's normal. At least you know the hot air is being blown outside the box instead of it being kept in which would be like an oven. You have to remember that you have componenats in there generating heat in the neighborhood of 130 - 150 degress ferenheight - so just be happy the fans are working and getting the heat out. PC's, PS'3 and even Wii's all generate tons of heat - it's the nature of electronic components - so don't worry about it. :)

Thats the reason why I have a small fan blowing at a angle to help push air out the back. I'm not afraid of the RROD, I just like to help keep cool my electronics. That's why my PC has 5 fans. :D
