those with silver cant download certain demos, gamerpics themes etc.

Those with silver can't play online while they still can download marketplace content. While those with gold can play online and download marketplace content right?

Sure, when you calculate the amount of time it's used, to the amount of money per month or day, it seems like nothing. But for the past 5 years (close to 6, maybe), I've been shelling out $60 for Live. Now, there are alternatives, that aren't necessarily bad either, and cost literally nothing. It's not about being poor, it's about spending 'extra' money on something that could be put to better use - such as another game.

I never realized how many poor people there are out there. I mean $60 a YEAR..how can people afford it? Stop complaining and go sell some blood or something!

Will Xbox live ever be free??? because i dont want to keep spending 60$ each year or more!!!! but i think of all the features they keep the price and wont go free! I wish it was like ps2 it was free !! but ps2 had no good features.. so i dont know can uu give me some ideas? thankssoufan123

Well, the "other console" is getting some huge improvements to it's online service this year, so it may force Microsoft to drop the yearly fee. Who knows?

You basically answered your own question. XBL isn't free because of all the features, so unless you want those to go away, it won't be free.

$60 is nothing for a full year of xbox live play you could accumulate $60 in now time and it would last you an ENTIRE YEAR it's well worth it

It will never be free. The price is fair for services rendered. If you stop and think about how much money Microsoft and other parties invest in to creating new content, troubleshooting and maintaining a service as massive as live you wonder why they do not charge more than they do. :DMsCortana

XBOX Live costs $50 a year, because it's the only one that is fun! PS3 Online isn't nearly as fun, and Wii doesn't have very naby online games. Live is worth the money by far.
