Xbox live account question...

I am already paying for xbox live on one gamer profile, if my roomate makes a new gamer profile will he be able to use xbox live on it also since I am already paying for one ? or would he have to pay for a separate xbox live account for his gamer profile (And if he does will it interfer with my account or overwrite my account?.) Yeah, you have to pay for each Xbox Live profile. Good news is, though, when you create a new gamertag on the 360, it'll get a free month of Live. So for the next month, he won't have to pay, but after that, the account will get reverted back to Silver, and he'll have to pay from then on.

And no, it won't overwrite your current profile. Each profile is seperate. You can even both sign into Live at the same time. You'll see when you have several profiles on your 360, some say "Xbox Live" and others don't. That's the only difference. My 360 has my Live account on it, and offline account, and my girlfriend's Live account. So I can sign in to my Live profile on my controller, and my girlfriend can sign into to her's, and we can both be online playing Left 4 Dead, Gears 2...any game that allows multiples on Live from one console.

If your roommate already has a passport.net account (@hotmail.com, @msn.com or @live.com), all he has to do is select "Sign up for Xbox Live", create a Gamertag, and then "Sign In" to his passport.net. So make sure he has one before you go through the sign-up process, or else you'll have to stop for about 5 minutes to get that done first...
