Well this is probably a noob question, but my friend might be getting a 360 and Live, and I was wondering if we can play games but only be in voice chat with each other. Like go online in Halo 3, but only be in our chat and not hear anybody in the main chat?

yea you can either use private chat so its only you two or you can use party chat and have other friends join randomly or put it to invite only and have other friends join via an invite.

Yes, it's possible. All you have to do is just go to "Chat & IM" and go down to Private Chat, select his name from your buddylist, and it will send an invite to private chat with him. After he accepts it, you'll be able to chat with only eachother. Also, since you wouldn't be talking in the main chat, you also wouldn't hear the chatter in the main chat.

If you do use party chat try not to always have it on, especially games that require teamwork and communication, itll make alot of people avoid you

I hate people in halo that are in private chats, the most annoying thing ever i like to talk while i killl people whether its making fun of them or telling them there is a guy with a shotgun behind them.

Well yeah, for games that require teamwork I can see why you'd want to be in main chat, but if you're just logging on to run and gun, I don't really care if I'm in main chat or not :P
