Xbox live connection requirements

ive looking into a lot of sites but all of em say different things...

whats the min connection speed you need so you dont lag too much?

uhhh u need xbox gold a high speed Internet connection , and if ur connected to a router u need a xbox live compatible router....................(Which i dont have!!@#@!#@! i always get disconnected )
