I'm new to the 360 scene. I have an 20GB HDD with my XBOX. Is it possible to just purchase an external harddrive and connect it via the USB port to expand the storage capacity?

Thanks for your reply. I figured that was the case.

Once I purchase a movie, does it need to stay on the hard drive? Can I delete it and re-download it at a later time without having to repurchase it?

Movies are rented, not purchased. You have 14 days to start watching it and then 24 hours to finish it after you press play before it expires. It cannot be moved off the 360 hard drive. You must re-rent it to download it again.

TV shows stay permantly on your HDD and you can delete them and then re dl another time. You can put a USB thumb drive and access mp3's and photos. Also you can hook up your IPOD and play songs from there.,
