Ok, I've had my 360 for a couple of months now and I still don't fully grasp how the etiquette for XBL goes. I have only played on Live a few times during my trial period. So I just recently bought the 3 month card so I could play again, but lately I've been reading that there is a code of conduct. Now, I'm sure I will get insulted for this question, and I know some of it may not makes sense, seeing how I'm posting this at 1:30 am. But, I want to play XBL without pissing anyone off, and without getting booted for not knowing something. So if anyone can give me a few pointers on what not to do.
just play and act normal. i never checked out the "etiquette". true i hardly ever chat, but i don't see what's wrong with that. at least i don't use voice masking O_o
Yeah, pretty much stick to acting normal, but I've heard that if you don't complete a session, people get mad. How long does a session go for, and how can I tell? I'm just use to going in and out of games like in SOCOM. I just don't have alot of online experience. Maybe I'm just being too self-conscious. :-/
hehe..a little bit dude...but when i first started live i was rather nervous..which is strange..but it passed. as for sessions...in lost planet multi you cant leave (as far as i know)...unless you go to your dashboard...in gears of war you can ditch...and if you do..then you do... there are always reasons. and if you arent having fun in a particular session... you so have the right to leave.
I dont use XBL yet but im guessing that it is just normal social practise: dont be sexist, racist, pedo, or sweary, and you should do fine. I really doubt LIVE would block your account just because some dickhead doesnt like the way you play or how long youre in the game for.
Well, I'm not so much worried about Live shutting me down. I'm worried about uptight hosts, who boot you for not knowing a game well. Granted I won't go and play ranked matches, but I've heard of these happenings in unranked games.

If it happens it happens don't get to hung up on it ... once you get into the swing of things you will get "friends" and then the chance of this happening decreases. I have been on LIVE for 2 months now and a friends list is easy to get up and running. Oh and another thing don't get to hung up on rep ... I hardly ever speak never mind use bad language yet I have accumilated a small amount of bad rep LOL I don't know some people ... I just take it as a sign that i must have kicked there backside and this is their way of getting revenge or something!!

If you encounter hosts that are annoying host your own matches. No you won't get banned for language unless you get reported a RETARDED amount of times.
