when i look back i realize that i've spend around 120 euro(180$) in xbox live.

Am i the only one who just feels ripped off considering that you would be cheaper of spending 100$ more on the PS3 and have more money left eventually because PSnetwork is free...

I think its completly worth the price. $50 a year is not that much and the playstation network is total crap compared to xbox live.

Worth it IMO Ps3 network dont hold a candle to it its ways ahead. Think about the features and accessability and downloable content well woth it.

Xbox Live is awesome. Worth every penny at $50/year, but I usually spend $40. If you look around, there are usually deals a couple times a year where you can get a card for $40.

Anyway...I've got both a PS3 and Xbox 360. I never use my PS3 for online play. Xbox Live is just a pleasure to use. If the PSN every got as good as XBL and was still free, then I'd think XBL was expensive.

But your forgetting, that 16 cents a day is still 16 cents more than ANYONE else is paying to play online. the WII does not, the PS3 does not and PC/Mac does not...yet all their games still come out with DLC. Im fine with paying for some DLC but why would I pay $$ to play if I have already bought the game, and I could play for free on my PC?

It's free but it sucks...come on, $50 for 12 months isnt even that bad. I'm sure you spend more than that on crap that isnt even worth it every other month.

lol Another one of these... if you cannot afford $50 a year for live, then dont pay for it. If you dont think it is worth $50, then I think you're hard to please because I dont play online much but I easily get $50 worth per year out of it.

XBL is EASILY $50 per year better than crappy PSN.

XBOXLive Gold is under 5 dollars a month

If someone can't pony up a little over a dollar a week maybe they should reevaluate their hobby and pick something more affordable to do in their free time.

Well, I have both an Xbox 360 and PS3 (as well as a Wii), and in all honesty, I gladly pay the fee for Xbox Live. The service is just a lot better than what is offered on the PS3. Playing games with friends is a lot more streamlined and easier to do, especially since you can just hop right into a game with someone from another game, as well as have cross-game chat. PSN is ok since it is free, but XBL is really a lot better. That's just my take on it.

I think it is worth it. Though I agree it seems odd to pay for an on-line service in addition to down-loadable content, I think it still leads to a worth while gaming experience. Now I just want a game which I will be willing to play consistently on-line with. And one of the above posters is right, you can get a 12 month card for 40 bucks if you look hard enough (Hint: two words, something that is not old plus a renewable weapon in Banjo-Kazooie plus .com).

$50 a year is definitely worth it.

I mean, yeah, if I had a PS3 I'd probably save money in the long run, but thats probably because I'd only have like 2 games for it.
