yea but have you ever played on the PSN network it really sucks
It really depends. If you just want to play a game online every once in a while it's great. It's always worked fine for me.
If you want all the bells and whistles then you're going to have to pay for XBL.
I, personally, couldn't care less about all the junk XBL was offering, so for me, paying would have been a bad decision. Especially, when there's an equally viable option for free.
Just pay for it stop being cheap
The whole point of Xbox is to have Live....
fiveonfire
Gee, you wouldn't think that with some of their heaviest hitters being single player only.

Damn capitalism. At least it's still "infinite times better than the PSN", as Digital Ph33r said.
isn't the psn free though?Mr_Wes32Yep,but doesn't compare anywhere with LIVE-you get what you pay for-or don't.

fiveonfire you couldnt be more right. Why do you think xbox has a 3 to 1 ratio over online players on the "PSN" oh and canvas of flesh could you name 2 "TOP" selling games that just had single player on the 360.[QUOTE="Mr_Wes32"]isn't the psn free though?cecxYeah, it's also inferior in every single way.
WRONG!!! Well....at least not anymore. The PSN still has a way to go before it catches up with Live, but with the constant updates it's not that far off.
I think that playing online should be available to Gold and Silver accounts, but you should have to pay for use of the store. ElPadilla
No offence but thats kinda of stupid because how do we know what are they selling to us? We could just waste our money and not buy anything good from the store.

psn sucks thats why, im ok paying for it because im very satisfied with the service provided.

I guess it's easy to come to that conclusion if you are going by what others say or you haven't used the service yourself. I used to pay for live(I just have silver now) becuase as the old saying go's...you get what you pay for. But now the PSN is past it's infancy stage and is coming up to par with XBL, so it doesn't make any sense for me to pay for one network service (THE QUALITY GAP HAS SHORTENED) when I can get the same quality on another service for free.
The only thing I will be losing out on is the 2 games I used to play on live(Geow and Halo). Which really won't be to bad....I'll pay when I play(which is rare)
Gold Membership will never be free, as for those who are saying the PSN is free, yes it is... for now. Do you really expect that trend to continue once Home comes out and they have more users?EnigmaticBeauty
Yes the trend will continue...overall PSN will be free, but I wouldn't rule out Sony charghing for select services.

As Microsoft do, Sony will soon start charging for people to play online.
Put it this way:
Xbox Live is by far the best online service out of all the consoles, so in all fairness, yuo should have to pay for it.
I mean, when did you get something as good as Xbox live for free anyway?
PS Network and Wii internet are completely inferior, so be grateful that xbox has a much better online service than them anyway.
