Im shortly getting a 360, and will be wanting to get xbox live. Just wondering how to go about getting it, and how to set it up etc.

Any other information/help about xbox live, or the 360 in general would be greatly appreciated

Thanks.

well with a premium system youll get 3 months free so that helps

but setup wise

if your a wireless fan youll nee a 100 dollar wireless adapter to hook up your 360 to your netowkr

or be like me and plug it into the wall with a simple ethernet cord

all depends on were your 360 is in your house

Make sure you never enter your credit info because as soon as you do MS feels the need to do as they please and charge you the renew feeeven if you cancel the account in the proper time.

You basically want to invest in the pre-paid cards you can find in stores for 1 month, 3 month, or 12 month increments. I have also heard horror stories from people who have used their credit cards to pay for their membership online and then tried to cancel their membership later. Do not- I repeat - do not give M$ your credit card number because it is extremely difficult to get them to cancel your account.

First and foremost, and obviously, you need an ISP. Once connected to the internet you'll be needing a router(wired or wireless) and I'd prefer wired to avoid disconnections during gaming. It's easy as just plugging the included ethernet cable into your console and the other end into the router. That will get you into XBL to set up your gamertag and DLC but not online play. You will need to upgrade to GOLD membership by either registering a credit card or prepaid cards. Once updated to GOLD status each game within itself has the game lobby to pick who's hosting a session.

MS has had my CC info since '03. I've never had a single credit card issue.
