I have had xbox 360 live since the beginning of september and i've been using my laptop for wireless, as it came with wireless internet, would it be better to get a wireless adapter, for christmas, or continue using my laptop. If i get a wireless adapter would people using the laptop, or main connection computer slow down my xbox live speed?

PS: My average ping on cod4 is usually 3 green bars.

Just by you having another source thats feeding some of your connection even if it's unactive can and will effect your ping/connection on XBOX live. To be honest 3 bars in COD is pretty bad, thats unplayable to me.

It depends on your connection, I find it better for people with DSL to direct connection to the XBOX and not run off of a router. But if you can get at least 4-5 MBPS you should be fine. But yeah Yellow Bars / 3 Bars in COD is bad. You need 4 at the very least.

i use my laptop as my internet connection source becuz i think its ridiculous to pay $100 for the adapter. they atleast could drop the price down to $60 or so so that its in the price range of the games/controllers. I thought about buying one off ebay or a 3r party one but idk

Just plug directly into your router with a wired connection. you cant beat it. Even if you're a long way from the router with your xbox you can pick up long ethernet cables for really cheap. And remember to configure your router for xbox live.Even if your NAT is open configuring your router can really make a difference.
