I dont have the xbox live gold card yet, but i got a wireless adapter and i wanted to test out to see if live worked.

So i do the test and wireless network connected and the light is green on my adapter so i thought i was fine

it gets to ip address and failed. My desktop thats connected to my router and everything doesnt work lol so i'm guessing that has to do with it

any suggestions? the last resort was that i would connect my laptop to the router and everything and see if that would work

Firstly, restart your router and try again. Doing this can sometimes resolve any conflict in asigning IP addresses. See if all your desktop, laptop or whatever else can connect then. If it does try an xbox live test and see what happens. You may need to get into your router config page and set a few things up. Without knowing the make/model of router you have and maybe what ISP you are using, you wont get much more help.

I use the wireless adapter too, all you need is a wireless router. It could be that your router is too far away.
