I use my laptop as a wireless adapter for my xbox360 . I can get onto xbox live just fine. The only problem is there is ALOT of latency. I know my internet connection is not the problem. My ps3 connects wirelessly flawlessly, strong connection. I get alot of lag in xbox live party chat and in games. Is there anything i can do to fix these problems without having to plunk down $60+ for the official wireless adapter?

I do the same thing. Do not let your computer run virus scans, stream videos, download large files, or stream podcasts or other sources of online audio. That always gives me lag... Especially the virus scans. Downloading can be alright, I'll get a bit of audio lag (hearing my self on my own headset) but nothing that hampers gameplay. The rest can cause a bit of gameplay lag, and virus scans will just make all hell break loose. I don't quite get why that stuff ^ causes the 360 to lag, but it seems to. Maybe it has just been coincidental, but I doubt it. Also, maybe you should restart your console every few hours or give it some breaks.

You could just have a host with a deadly internet connection really often though...
