My Xbox Live account has been locked by Microsoft. I cannot add points or modify my membership. They keep telling me they are working on it, but it has been nearly a month now. Any suggestions on what I should do?

I have a hard time believing that Microsoft has been working on this for a whole month without any resolve... You wouldnt have happened to modded your system ,or be a jackass online towards other people would you have ?? Not saying you have , but thats normally the case when its been locked up for that long...

If it's locked then they must have a reason for doing so. That stuff just doesn't happen randomly.

None of that, the information didn't match on my hotmail account to the credit card billing address I used for purchasing the COD 4 map pack. I just called again, same response "We're woking on it".

same here but i also got my pass changed by microsoft and they never told me, now when i call them, i get hung up on by them because they changed my pass so i couldnt unlock it. they screwed me over about 3000 dollars in MSP and XBL Memberships... all they could say was sorry make a new account, so if anyone is new or knows their pass from experience use a non hotmail email on your account, like gmail, or yahoo, or comcast, or they can change your password and your recovery question and you can not fix it because hotmail is a part of live ID and you cant sign into email to find out your password... F YOU MICROSOFT u screw people over..( also they banned my old xbox and said they had "concrete proof" i did something wrong, but couldnt tell me)

First of all you bumped an extremely old thread. Secondly, you spent over $3000 on MS points and XBL memberships?! Even if you had your xbox since launch, that is a lot. Third I didn't understand half of what you wrote!
