not break but the longest i had one was 4 months but they only cost $20 and one comes free with the 360 and also they have the best sound quality and when you talk in it it sounds normal
My mic went the other way on me, I could hear others but they couldn't hear me, mics are only cheap now, so pick another up.. Just dont get the wireless ones as i've heard they arent all that good for various reasons.
My mic, all of the sudden did the same thing. But the mic part still works so i have to listen to people through my normal speakers which is a pain with the talkers who arn't very loud
