On Tuesday February 20th from 0200-0500 PT Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you will not be able to post.) The remainder of Xbox.com will be available for your browsing pleasure.

A quick point though. It would be nice to see a message on your 360 telling you that it's down, rather than it making out that your MTU isn't large enough.

I have been screwing around with my networking gear and looking up info to try and diagnose this for like the last hour! All because that stupid company couldn't be bothered implementing a "network status" type feature! geez.
I called customer tech ... which eventually said they were only available until 11:00pm and it was only 9:30 .... so i was seriously pissed about the whole situation .. all because of the communication as to what the problem was.

Bump...more people need to see this, I was just about to call Xbox Live, then I decided to come check online. But yeh, I totally agree with what some of you have said, Microsoft should definitely enable some kind of network status feature or something on the dashboard, cause this sudden maintenance freaks people out, I'm highly addicted to Xbox Live lol. I'm very happy to see Microsoft cleaning up their servers'n'all, but still...
