Okay my 1 month goild expired. I played online sometimes but not most of the time. I spend a few hours on Halo3 and COD3 but thats about it. So Xbox live or COD4 or both but Mass effect is coming out and SMG. Damn $50 fee. Also is COD4 even worth it without live. Maybe PC COD4 then if online is essentail in COD4. My PCÂ runs COD4 fine but not as good as the X360.
Or, for the time being you could just pay the 14.99 through monthly payment and change back to the 12 month payment later on. That is possible correct? Since I stumbled upon it when I messing around and trying to make my account the parent account. You may still be able to have enough to get CoD 4 and Mass Effect if you do that, considering both are in the month.
But, you can always get both later. And as everyone so far said, it's based upon what you would have more fun in paying.
i would go for live but if you buy mass effect when it comes out you will probably play that alot, and it would be kind of a waste to buy live now if you are going to play single-player the next month.
I'm going to add again and recomend you get live right then wait a little bit until you get enough money and then you buy COD4 so that you can have fun while you wait to get it then once you do get it you can go on live with it aswel! Anyway thats just what i'd do.

yeah agreed. the 7$? fee a month is a great deal. but 60$ in one pay is another story for some people. dont know what the fee is in the US. over here its 5euros which is8$

yeah, i know. like i said: for some people it's a lot of money, and that's the sad truth. I can remember times where xbox live was out of the question for me.. even if it was 6 or 7$ a month.
If you want Live, CoD4 and Mass effect then Id say a good plan on a tight budget would be: 1)get Cod4 and play SP (should take a couple weeks to get through twice and get the unlockables, with reasonable play) 2)Get Mass Effect (should take quite a while to get through) 3)Get Live after the holidays when you might come into some extra cash. Or 1) sign up for gamefly or gamerang, pay 20 bucks to get 2 rentals at once. 2) rent both CoD4 and Mass Effect 3)Buy a month of live 4)total cost = 30 bucks
i don't know if it still works, but you used to be able to create a new account, and you'd get another free trial of live.
you could get cod4 and try that. you'll want live for cod4, so see if that works, then you'll have atleast 1 more month to scrounge some dough for live next month.
Ionly finished the intro mission of cod4 and the campaign to me seems nothing special.
Online is awesome. I really think that cod4 without live is absolutely not worth the money. If you can renew live ( that i strongly suggest ) is the game to buy.
