xbox live private chat....not working!

ok, so here's my problem

I got my girlfrind an xbox 360 for xmas so we could chat and play and save a load of money on phone bills, the first month went by and we loved it, we chatted for age's on private chat and had good connections and alot of fun, untill one day it just didnt work....we've tryed everything to get it working again but for some reson it just wont, and thats not just it for some reson we both cont connect to each others games eather....

I dont understand why its stopped working we both have gold memberships and have are NAT types set to open we both have good broudband speed and good routers...

Has any body else had this problem? and can anyone give me some advice on how to get it working again?

Wrong. If you are on her friends list then. Its something to do with the NAT. Basicly it needs to be open, go to the system blade, Networking, test XBL connection. Right t the bottom it should have the NAT setting. It should be either OPEN, MODERATE or STRICT.

reply when you test it. Get your GF to test your connetion as well.

i checked my NAT type and its open and so's hers....

I've been reading other forums on the net and alot of people have had this problem...most people say about the nat type but what do you do if both are on open?

PS: she's not dumped me or blocked me lol :)

I have done some searching and it seams like there is more than one person with your exact problem. They all say NAT is the solution but if you say both of yours are open...

The only other luck one guy had was disconnecting his battery and then put on again. Thinks it is something to do with the chat not working when the batteries get low. Kind of makes sense.

i read the same thing and i have to admit i've not tryed it yet lol i'll post again after i try to let you know.
