xbox live problem/question

i know this is probably really dumb, but i only just joined today and i didnt realise your gamertag didnt connect to your offline profile. i have loads of achievements and a high gamerscore offline but online it says i have none. is this supposed to happen or am i just unlucky?

is there anyway i can sync them because i hate seeing that i havent completed anything. i was hoping i could use my level 50 hunter on borederlands online but clearly not unless there is some way i can make it work, but im guessing everyone has to deal with this issue.

should have changed your ofline gamer tag to a name that isnt already taken on xbox live before you signed up

And no you cant sync an offline and an online gamer tag, best you can do is get live on the offline

ah right thanks :/ never mind. i didnt think itd work like that. if i change my offline gamer profile to my live name will it change?
