Hello, I am considering getting an xBox for xMas (LOL) anyway, one of my big deciders will be online play. My main question is: Is their always voice chat going on in online games, does everyone usually have a headset and talk to each other? Also, is it as good as the fanboys say it is. Thanks.

Of course not all games have multiplayer and not all multi-player games support voice. But Live's new party system allows you to invite friends into voice chat and it works while playing games, watching movies...basically doing anything with your 360 while connected to Live. So even games that do not support voice chat with all gamers playing you can still talk and strategize with friends that you invite into a party for voice chat. In my opinion it is 100% worth it. Not all gamers have headsets but plenty do. And as more people start using it it will become more valuable for people to have headsets. And an average price of $20 isn't bad. And if you buy the 60gig HDD starter pack or the messaging pack with the keypad that attaches to your controller to make it much faster/easier to type messages to your friends through Live..you will get a free 360 headset. And both of those packs give you free months on Gold Membership. The 60gig starter pack gives you a 3 month card and the messaging starter kit gives you a year of Gold. Jump on in!

For the most part, the voice chat is in almost everygame. There are many trash talkers though, but you can always mute them by selected their gamercard. Xbox LIVE brings new life to games. In many games, the Offline to Online play are polar opposites. It usually makes the gameplay more fun.

Use the mute option?? That works to. Get a 360, i didn't want one at first either but when my brother said he would go in half, which is like him paying 25% though, i said ok and bought one. It really rocks! Get live and if you get the arcade but the 60gb starter pack! (if you got like an extra $100 buy the Elite, it is so cool!)

Definetly get it. You will probably end up playing a lot of online games like cod, halo gears, etc. which all have a pretty active crowd

with headseats. Some games dont have voicechat, but the new party system lets you talk to friends even if you arent playing the same game.
