is it possible to still download game demos and still get achievements with xbox live silver?or do you need gold? also do you have to pay to download demos of games with microsoft points or whatever theyre called

You can do all that and no you don't have to pay to play demos. The only thing you can't do with silver is play games online.

thanks for the info.... two more quick things....is downloadable content also available..?and just dealing with xbox achievements as a whole i have an ethernet cord that i will only run to my system when i am playing games if i am going for a certian achievement and say im connected to xbox live when im playing the game and unplug the cord and i decide to plug it back in and start the game back up from where i left up will that ruin my achievement at all or will i still be able to get it?bnuss82

To complete it, no. To see your achievements on a website, you have to log on at some point so they can update.
