I wanted to make a new gamertag because im giving my old one to my brother but it wont let me make one I'm not sure if the server is still down..... is it?
They said it would be UP to 24 hours for maintenance... and since the downtime started at midnight PST it should be back on in no more than 3.5 hours... but it also means it could be less than that, like as soon as like an hour from now.

suprisingly ive had the best day ever when xbox was down. i got a check in the mail for 500 bucks. got a free tshirt from gamecrazy and a job interview there.. sweet!

Considering how much retail sucks, I highly doubt you'd enjoy it as much as you think. It's not like you get to sit and play games all day. Every single employee I've ever met in any game store I've been in has had a terrible attitude and seemingly hated working at that particular store. Doesn't come off as an appealing job to me, haha.

Not to mention they get paid next to nothing as it might be a dollar or so higher then minimum wage or at least that how the gamestops are at where I live, I've talked to some of the people that work and they say the pay is terrible even for the assistant managers its not that great.
I been reading forums all overr and 1 said that we wont have the update when we turn on our systems this xbl shut down is just for preperrations for the real release :-(..... i want my update now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, you fail. Major Nelson said on his blog that he could 'guarantee' the new update was coming out, as scheduled, November. After this downtime, the dashboard update WILL NOT BE IMPLEMENTED.
yeah i just hoped it wasnt my connection probelm... why culdnt they just say something like due to updates xbl will be offline instead of some crap about MTU
