Hey guys, i know that there is at least 10 posts about this (i have read them all) but i'm looking for a little help with my xbox/ps3 connection. I have a xbox 360 and ps3 that both have no wireless capability so i looked around and found out you can use your laptop's wireless connection with the systems to connect, here is my setup: I have my laptop connected to the 360/ps3 using a Cat 5E crossover cable, my wireless internet comes from a 2wire wirless router, i bridged the networks and followed all the steps on all other guides but still no connection. If you have any advice (other than a flaming me by saying just by the adapter) please help me out

Dont bridge, use Internet Connection Sharing(ICS). Right click on your connection and click the Advanced tab, then check the ICS box and it should be good to go. BTW i thought that the PS3 came w/ wireless capabilities...

I used this method but i DO NOT recommend this.

Take your laptop, connect an ethernet cable to the xbox and the laptop. Bridge your wireless and local area connection, turn on network sharing, and BAM.

You have to change your network type to a "private" network to share with any PC or Console. (Assuming you use Vista because sharing with XP was a tad different)

Yea, I just posted this on a different thread. The best way that works for me is to use ICS. Windows has a tutorial if you don't know how to do it. The problem then would be that most people would receive a moderate or strict NAT.

To fix that first go to the Control Panel and double-click Network Connections.

Next, go to your connection that connects to the internet. (In my case it was the Wireless Network Connection.)

Now click on Properties and go to the Advanced tab on the top. Here you should have access to your Windows Firewall settings and Internet Connection Sharing. Under Internet Connection Sharing, there should be two checkboxes. Check the second one so that both are checked.

Now your 360 should be able to open up the ports that it needs on its own. Your NAT should show as Open. I'm not sure if it'd work the same for a PS3 though since I don't have one, and this is all assuming that the NAT would be open had you connected directly to the router. If not then the problem would then lie with the router.
