How much lag are we talking about?

Is the risk worth it?

I live in an area where that is my only choice.

A guy at work has it says his works just fine

You would be fine downloading content, just do not think about playing multiplayer. The lag associated with a satellite connection makes online gaming, except for something like Uno or checkers, impossible.
