xbox live is an amazing system, and the 360 would not be the same without it. BUT i can also say that if we did not have xbox live, i would still have my 360. for the few days out of a year that my subscribtion is out of date, i still play, and i still love.

Its a good feature, you would miss more than half the xbox experience without it.

the xbox 360 is great because Of live.

LiVE makes the 360 great.

Without Live, the 360 is no better then the PS2

Man, XBox Live is great...for hardcore gamers. If you're not highly competitive as it relates to gaming, then you could survive without Live. The XBox is an excellent system with fun games by itself. However, if you want to be apart of a gaming community and show off your skills globally, Live is the way to go. Now that I have Live I couldn't do without it because my town is dry of hardcore gamers. It's cool that I can go online a play against people just as serious as I am.

Being able to play on LIVE is a huge part of the 360's success and not being able to take advantage of the feature will more than likely downgrade your whole 360 experience...so I would suggest getting it even if you don't intend to play on LIVE a whole lot.

sort ya crack out, without live it would still be better than a ps2, thats obvious

thing is with live, if ya never played on it and only been on ur xbox thru multiplayer splitscreen or multilink then u wont miss it.

if ya had a gold subscription for a while then had to go back to no live ya wud soon miss it.

if nothing more than the fact alot of games online are totally different games from offline games, so without online they still cool, but if they online some times its like having 2 games for the price of one. like look at splinter cell for example the multiplayers nowt like the 1 player. without xbox live ya wudnt be able to play it.

being online adds to the long term value of ur games. even the best of games u can come to a point where u ran out of fun with them, but the best of games that are great online as well will keep you entertained far much longer than they would on the campain or multiplayer if ur friends happen to be over.

Like everyone has said, Live is a great feature. The online gaming is great, but with my connection, games are hit and miss with lag. My favorite feature is downloading demos for free, hands down. I could care less about themes and gamer pics and stuff like that, although that seems to be important to many other people. With buying new content for existing games, I feel like some developers might not give 110% into making games completely ready. Sure it is nice to have new maps and such, but I don't want to have to pay for it. Especially if it is within a few months of a game coming out. Without XBL, I would say you are at 80% of the 360 experience, that is if you don't crave crushing the faces of fellow gamers all across the world.
