XBOX LIVE: Wireless Gaming (Running in 802.11n!!!!)

Hey you guyz, i bought the (official wireless adaptor like 2 weeks ago, and it has been okay so far, there were some disconection when playing Gears. Oh yeah you guyz know what I hate??? Bullet Lag, games like R6V or Gears. its like i shoot at a wall 0.4 seconds later it hits the the wall. Is it just me cuz im wireless or... WTF !! LOL. I know wired is faster but there is like no way im going wired... dont even ask. Anyways, im planning on gettin 802.11 n adaptor so i can have better online experience. As you guyz know, the official adaptor can only support 802.11 b/g/a. So now i have to get new adaptor that supports 802.11 n. Will that make a difference between 802.11 g/b/a and 802.11 n? maybe less lag or less disconnection??? im planning on getting Apple Airport Extreme router and i dont know about the adaptor yet.

From what I heard 802.11n is 5 times faster than 802.11g. so what im asking is, you think xbox live running in 802.11 n will make a big difference? If i have 802.11 n router and 802.11 n adaptor, not the official one.

The Xbox 360 adapter does not support N, so you will not see any speed increase, although you may see some range increase. If you have an N router you need an N receiver.

Furthermore, that high speed is only going to help you in terms of networking and transferring files over that network. It will not improve XBL speeds. Wireless G is more than enough for "most" internet connections.

you almost might see lag due to the host of the game connection as well as other players who have a lower internet speed slowing you down as well. and the wireless N speed is posed to be the techonology that will be around for a while becuase most of the computer stuff cant go as fast as the speeds of the n router allow.

Ok, look at it this way. If 10 cars need to drive through a tunnel side by side the tunnel only needs to be 10 lanes across. If you make it 20 lanes across the cars will not get there any faster.

That is essentially what you are doing by going from G to N. The G is already fast enough to support your internet connection with no problems. The N is simply overkill when it comes to your internet. What N is faster for are local file transfers(eg: between 2 computers in your house).
