1. It's already winning when it comes to mass media compared to the PS4, so they won the first battle this gen.
2. Microsoft showed it's willing to put money to secure exclusives by showing off two of the most sold and played games worldwide and having exclusive content for each.
The Xbox One presentation was to show off the hardware and get the buzz going through the mainstream media and it succeeded at both things. It's been talked about on Forbes as the clear winner and on the Today show and Good Morning America as what to look for.
Microsoft is in the driver's seat for this generation right now. Anyone who likes Microsoft's games or hardware has to like that.
They didn't let anyone down, they didn't fail to do anything. They came out strong and have the support of the mainstream, the most important demographic when it comes to being successful in the industry.
Willing? they don't care about money, they have mountains of it. I'm pretty sure most people aren't impressed by their 'show off' of a dog, TV and NFL (Central to a US audience) and FIFA (That never changing games that rakes in money, because it has a few new optimizations and a different UI each year) The fact that everyone is shouting about E3 is because that's what everyone cares about when it comes to a games console. Games.Oh ok, so you're confused then, you don't think the Xbox One will have games besides Modern Warfare, Forza, and FIFA
That's what the problem is
Please don't tell me that it's not a console for gamers. If you did I'd have to tell you that gamers don't matter anymore and they haven't for the last two generations. It's about providing games and entertainment and the goal is to hook every single person who will never use it for games with TV or movies or music.
