I'm a PC gamer, and Im interested in buying a "next gen" console to play the console exclusive games that don't come to PC. Xbox One seems to have the most exclusive game titles that interest me. I'm not a Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy player. If those exclusive games are your reasoning for buying a PS4 over a Xbox One then more power to you. I would like to play Titanfall, Forza5, Dead Rising 3, Quantum Break, and the new Halo. The PS4 exclusives announced at this E3 were almost all exclusive ingame items, not actual exclusive game titles. The indie games can be bought on steam. The best games of the sony presentation, imo, Destiny and WatchDogs are both going to be available on Xbox One. Diablo 3 and Elder Scrolls Online are better played on PC, again imo, so what does a PC gamer get from buying a PS4? They only hinted at a few games in production with no release dates. The real shit storm surrounding Xbox One revolve around DRM, and the Kinect Camera. Issues I believe have been blown out of proportion, my reasoning follows. DRM I don't understand the backlash from people in regards to sharing games, I can't share my steam games, it really doesn't affect me negatively. Do people really trade games around between their friends all the time? As a PC gamer I don't buy physical copies of games, so thats not really an option. If the Xbox One can be similar to Steam with the crazy sales and great community there is no reason not to accept it as Steam is accepted now. I have to be always online for my PC games it can get annoying especially during the release when the servers are stressed the most, but generally after a few days/weeks it gets better, the always online digital download is the way everything is going. I love my steam account having all my games saved on the cloud to be downloaded at will. I like the features that always online games allow, such as always saving my progress, online social interactions, and the trading and community that comes from being always online. The living game features could open up whole new kinds of interaction with games. Like the driveatar feature where you can play with friends even when they are at work. Why not do this in an RPG where you can level up while away, or group with your friends to run through a dungeon even if they aren't there. The Smart Match where it will find opponents for your preferred game while playing other games, This kind of stuff isn't possible without always online. People who don't have a consistent internet connection should move to the mobile space. The way mobile games/consoles are these days you can have a great gaming experience without needing to be on the internet. The console is a desktop theres no reason it shouldn't be connected to the internet unless there is an outage. Kinect camera: Really guys get over it. I have multiple webcams that I used for streaming to Twitch.tv, if someone really wanted to, Im sure they could watch me through those cams, but really what kind of boring ass truman show shit is that. Most of your phones and laptops have cameras, do you cover those too? People freaking out about Kinect camera are just going overboard. The new Kinect is a feature that hasn't really gotten much attention other than negatively. I played with a friends kinect once, it seemed okay, it was a bit unresponsive and didn't really feel like a game changer but it was there and added features that were fun for a bit, not to mention continuing the motion gaming trend that won the last console war. Is it so horrible that this new Kinect is built from the ground up to be more integrated into the system, and included in the price? I dont think so. The TV stuff uses the Kinect in some really interesting ways that would require the Kinect to be bundled with the console. TV NFL partnership. Come one guys I seriously hope they can flesh out this partnership to further enhance my gameday experience. I would go nuts if I could get NFL Sunday Ticket on my Xbox One! I don't have cable so a lot of the TV functionality doesn't really affect me personally but if I were to have cable it wouldn't be so bad to use some of those features, its the some of the same stuff that many Smart TVs do but its also bundled with the console, but it goes further than that, with Auto-resume to check scores or the weather then being able to instantly jump back to your spot in a game all with in one system. Sure you could pause and switch channels but its a neat feature just the same... Streaming Twitch.tv partnership. Really thats a big deal for anyone already set up on twitch they support their streamers really well and have a great community for streaming. This is a big deal for me because I have a lot of favorite streamers on twitch that I watch everyday. I don't have cable I just watch twitch, and the ease of streaming on twitch is a big win for Xbox One.

I like the PS4 because it is cheaper, more powerful, and has more exclusives that I am interested in. Forza 5, Halo, and Dead Rising just aren't as interesting imo. I am looking forward to Knack, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, and 1886 for the PS4. That, plus whatever Naughty Dog, Quantic Dream come up with will be great. I am also a PC gamer, but I like my consoles to have much different experiences than PC.

Are the games you want to play worth the $500 entry fee? And what about all the added costs & restrictions?

This is better suited for System Wars.
