so i was in cex today and i saw splinter cell chaos theory for £1.50. i was like WHAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!!

i bought it obviously and then i checked marketplace and this thing is 1200 ms points which according to oxm is £10.20.

also some other games like halo etc. are much cheaper to buy and obviusly don't take up hdd space.

wondering if anybody else has been avoiding the originals for the same reason or why are some people buying these overpriced game? i was impresses with xbla prices but this........just ott.

I still have all my original games for the xbox and if I feel the need to play them, I will do so on the original xbox as opposed to the 360. If I purchase any games, they come from brick and mortar stores as they are ridiculously cheap these days.

Most (if not all) of the games offered are more expensive new at stores.

yh i agree about the deleting thing and also if you get bored you cannot trade it in when it's on your hard drive so youre stuck with it or you delete it and its a waste of cash.

also nice to see your a fabregas fan. hes getting a hat-trick today against hull!

i'm not a casual gamer which is why i buy used. there are so many games out that you can't buy each one new. if i bought the whole of my game collection new i probably wouldn't be writing this thing on the internet now. i hav loads of games and if i times that by £40 my bank statement wouldnt be looking so good.

its a rip off def i mean most of the games they release are already bc its cheaper just to go find the original somewhere and while were on the topic of bc have you noticed how they have added anything in like over a year. It used to be they werer making progress albit slow but they were adding then the completely stopped in favor of this selling old xbox games for crazy amounts.

well really if you seen games like halo 1 or ninja gaiden for sale in a shop brand new copies still for the old xbox. guranteed they would still want around 10pounds. so its quite compareable. not like you dont have a choice you can still hunt down old second hand games for less. they cant really sell them for peanuts. coz ms and the orig devs are both wanting to take a slice. i bet most of the old titles owners arnt interested in selling them for next to nothing. would be a waste of bandwidth and hardly any rewards. to be honest i cant see the point of buying any the old xbox games. just about all the best titles have had next gen releases by now so theys very few to go back to apart from short one off blasts for old times sake. old games dont usually compare very well when you go back over 5 years if your spoiled on the current releases and systems. infact it can often hurt your memory of the old games where you loved them but went back and see how unresponsive and crap they are to play compared to new titles

I still have about half a dozen of my original Xbox games, the ones I really like. I've sold all the rest. I have yet to download an Xbox Original, and I probably never will.

I downloaded Guilty Gear X2. The game is alot of fun. I've got no regrets about it. I think its a smart move. Yes, you can get them cheaper in a store, but thats assuming your local retailer has it. Some games are hard to find. Besides, I think its nice that they are amassing a collection of high quality downloadable games.

I started buying them about a year ago when I got my 360. I had a PS2 last generation, so when I got my 360, I was able to go back and play some of the great Xbox exclusives I never got to play. I've picked up KOTOR, Fable, Doom 3, Jade Empire, and the first 2 Halos.

i aggree. i bought metal arms: glitch in the system from xbox original because i thought that it would show the guide thing (friend online all the things that the guide woud have on 360 games) but it didn't so i was kind of disapointed thats what i tought it would be. when i bought my 360 i bought halo 2 learned that first. so now if i wantt o play something xbox 1 i go to gamestop and go to them at 1-5 a pieac which isn't expensive as hell.

I actually just bought KOTOR 1 and 2 to play on 360! I have them both for pc, but I miss my controller so I picked them up... Which gets me to thinking, are there any other must haves from the original xbox for my 360?

Exactly what I would do. Original xbox games are sooo cheap now that it's not worth the bother of downloading them off xbox live. Plus I would have to transfer all my save files from my old Xbox to my new one if I wanted to play my old games on my new 360, which I just cannot be bothered to do as my Xbox still works perfectly fine, (The only slight problem is the disc drive gets stuck now and then, but it's not a big problem.)

I'm not voting because your choices are two extremes and no middle ground. I play a few Xbox origanals off the marketplace but that doesn't mean that I only play Xbox origanals.

Also with gas prices what they are it is actually cheaper for most people to just download xbox origanals for $15 than to spend $25 on gas and $10 on a game.

if you payed for it you can re-download it for free. This is how i keep my hard drive free while still playing a lot of the classics.

These aren't must haves, but they're really really good games. Especially considering that you can get them for like $5 or less:

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

NBA Street 2 (2 is the best one by far)

Phantom Dust (only if you have someone who lives with you who would also play it)

Jet Set Radio Future

Jedi Academy

Jade Empire... this was rated well and has realtime action, but the action is like... imagine the most generic and bland beat-em up ever made... thats the quality of the action in the game. But the story is interesting and if you like all the dark side light side stuff of KOTOR, you'll have fun with this.

It's better to get the game in my opinion , because it cant get deleted if incase you get RROD

fabfabregas

People always mention that as a knock against digital distribution, but can you tell me one service that doesn't let you re-download stuff for free? PSN, Wii, XBL, Steam, Direct 2 Drive, Amazon.com, iTunes... all of them let you redownload stuff you've already purchased yet people always bring up the complaint of, "if I erase the files, i'll have to buy them again." That rumor/lie needs to get taken out to pasture already.

I've bought Burnout 3 and Black from the Xbox originals. I know it cost me more than what it would've cost from a shop but I don't care because I can afford it. There's no way I'd put a used game in my 360 so I don't buy Xbox games from CEX, Gamestation and GAME. Mostly because they're always scratched really badly. Obviously most people don't look after their games.

If I want to buy a retail Xbox game (because it isn't on Xbox originals) I look for it on ebay. I try to get it sealed. If I can't find a sealed version I look for one in mint condition. Xbox games I've bought from ebay recently include GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas and KOTOR 1 + 2. I've still got my original Xbox. I never sold it. I'm glad I kept it too because my 360 is away being repaired so I'm playing KOTOR on my original Xbox.
