The issue is.. nintendo is too kiddy... the DS screens are too small and lack the high quality games we want... i always feel like my ds is forcing the touchpad on me when it isn't really needed.....
for the PSP they have no realy games i actually want to play, they are at best an "ok" library... especially when things like lumines are seen to be the huge system sellers as was discribed a few months back.
a xbox portable has been discussed repeatedly... don't get the xboxportable and the ipod killer mixed up they are 2 seperate rumors as far as i'm aware the ipod killer has already been kind of acknoledged as true on pretty much every tech firm site as going to happen... even blurry leaked "viral marketing style" images have come out of it.
the xbox portable on the other hand meriyll lynch and quite a few other corporate review firms see it as a positive fact that it is going to come out... although there estimates were end of 2007 into 2008 not end of the year although if microsoft can lock down mobile gaming partnership to get games secured for a platform that fast it would be amazing.
What i'd like to see is an ULV cpu, something along the power of a xbox1... definitly possible with all the latest advances in cpu's so that isn't an issue, a decent bit of ram and video using one of the ati-togo gpu's that would lock in the necessary power, add on toĀ that some NAND flash maybe 4gb (if apple can secure low cost deals im sure microsoft can as well.) slap this with a GOOD QUALITY 4-5" screen (if they want to go really big make it a oled but dont see that happening unless it is a 2008 release)... and don't go insanely proprietary, use mini-dvd's stick with what we know works. a slot driven mini-dvd would be optimal.
