Perfect scratch circle around the disc. Now unplayable.
And this is a refurbished Xbox from Microsoft after fixing my RROD last year.
Microsoft is going down the ******.

Yea, but you can't trade them in :/Happened to one of my games on the 250gb slim console, perfect circle..thankfully it still works though.

I've never heard of this happening without the console being moved during gameplay
Its no one's fault but your own, sure the drive could be better and not let that be as likely, but still somehow your Xbox must have moved even in the slightest, thus causing this
I've never had my Xbox ever do that, because it stays stationary in my entertainment center (also mine hasn't RRoD yet, lets hope it stays that way for a good while, but still within 3 years)

If I'm correct, you shouldn't move the console during play (I take the safe route and don't move the console with a disc in it even when it's not in play). Also, does standing the console up vertically have any effect on scratching games? I have mine horizontally and I've never had a scratched disc caused by the machine.

wrong ive had 3 disks get half circles on them and the xbox was on flat wood far from me and the 360 never moved sometimes the disk drive just sucks and scratches your disk even if the 360 isn't moved

is the wood floor pretty solid? cause i know footsteps on my floor causes a slight reverberation, big enough force and it could cause the 360 to vibrate a littleI have also had this happen to me. The console is sitting in a horizontal postion, on a stable component rack. A perfect circular scratch around my Mass Effect disc. Luckily, it's still playable. I rip all of my games to the HD now, before playing them. I'm hoping this keeps them from getting scratched.
And NO, I wasn't moving my console while I was playing, or even while it was on.

My Xbox has never done it, and I know plenty of people with 3-4 year old 360s who haven't had this happen.
Could be a wired controller shaking it for a split second by a tug, I don't know but more than likely the console had to move, or the disc wasn't put in properly

it was on a shelf and it wasnt moving and i put the disk in properly and i didnt tug it and some 360s scratch disks without moving them and really if i slightly moved it by a tug or the ground slightly vibrated thats still **** that it would scratch a disk
