So earlier this week i was playing my 360.When all of a sudden the screen goes green, but i can still play. The screen switched from green to red to really weird lines. I went to the dashboard and put in different games and still the same result. Now i turned on my 360 this morning and i couldn't see a thing. The screen is black, it's like the video cable isn't even connected. I can only hear the audio. What do i do??
Well tell them what happened. You have to have the 3 red lights before mailing it in. You could still try cause they usually just put broken mailed in ones and straight give you a refurb or new so the process is short. So they probably wont even check.

turned it off turned it back on like 1 min latter did same thing i had extra av cables because noob microsoft sent me 2 lol so i switched them didnt work. repair time be happan it takes like 2 and half weeks now
Sorry bro, you will not get 3Red Lights. You will get 2 red lights and a error screen. And that error is not covered under the warrenty. You will have to pay $100 to get it fixed by microsoft, or buy a new one. The problem is the chip your A/V cables get plugged into, not the A/V cable itself. This chip fries and there is no way to fix it personally. Though, some advice. Once this happens, do the towel trick, your 360 will fix for a whatever time it does. Once it dies out again, you will either get the Error screen again, or the 3Red Lights. If you get the Error screen again, try the towel trick again. If you get the 3RL, you can now send it in to microsoft for free. And once they opene your 360, they will see that it is no good, and they will MOST LIKLY send you a new one, or a refurbished one. They will probably throw out your older one and scrap the working parts for a refurbed 360. Good luck.
check with a friends a/v cable, if thats the same then odds on you got E74 coming on. id phone up ms and tell them SOMETIMES when u turn on you get 3 red lights. dont say its permanant then when they check and no rrod then it suits the description. thats all my friends have done when they needed to get they system fixed out of warranty and they just got someoen elses system back refurbed instead,. send it off over rrod asap before e74 kicks in permantly and they suss u aint got rrod. dont do the towel trick coz they no need, and ur going to fry ur xbox more. u might get stuck with a fried xbox if ur not carefull, theys no need to towell it to get rrod, just lie and say it comes up sometimes after playing for a hour or so. they wont test a system for a hour and i know like about 3 people that done this for e74 and they dvd lasers breaking
