Hey everyone i have a question, i was wondering if i got a xbox(arcade) and hooked it up and it says i need a harddrive for the latest update and i dont have a hardrive so i select no dont update, or w/e wen i do get a harddrive can i still update the system or is it like i have missed my chance?

I'd say you can update later. In fact it will probably keep trying to download it everytime you connect. If it doesn't you can always download NXE from the net and install it on your 360. You can find NXE at www.xbox.com, just search for it.
You need a Memory card or a hard drive. When the NXE was launched you could sign up to get a free 512MB Memory card I don't know if thats still going on but you need some sort of storage device. New xbox consoles come with Memory built in but thats only arcade.
If you go here and put in you're console ID and serial number they will send a 512MB card or at the start money off towards a hard drive. Its one per console.
