xbox waffling??? please help don't want xbox360 to die!!!

so i was playing halo3 online in hammerzeit with my cousin on narrows and it freezes. Strange thing was it froze with grey "waffling pillars" going vertically and horizontally across my tv screen. I tried it again with call of duty 4 which i just bought and the same thing happened. Has this happened to anyone before? will it go away?

That sounds like exactly what happened to mine before it died... Halo 3 gave me a wierd screen like you described, with little lines going up the screen (it also made a static noise when it froze). When I put in Forza 2, the screen just turned some weird green color.

There isn't much you can do for your 360... Good luck.

The 360 I got back is much better however, it runs cooler and quiter, and hasn't frozen yet (knock on wood).

well my screen never turned green but i got the red rings in the past. They never bothered me though i would just turn it off and then it would go away when i turned it on.
