Hey everyone,
Why is the internet full of forums saying that the falcon motherboard is overheating like hell. I tested the air that comes out at the back of the 360 and all are between 40 to 50 Celsius (104 to 122 Fahrenheit) and are being played Horizontal. (its like 10 Celsius(50 Fahrenheit) higher in the xboxes.

I think that most people are putting there 360:
1. Vertical (worst way to put your xbox360 because the 360 sucks are from the sideways)
2. In a small space ( less than 20 cm from the back of you xbox to the wall)
3. All of the above

In the rooms the temperature was around 25 Celsius( 77 Fahrenheit).

I have my 360 vertical and it works perfectly fine. If it was seriously a problem, they wouldn't have made it so you could put it vertical.

theys any amounts of different setups in xboxes they have diff parts in side. just coz u have falcon suposedly dont mean all the parts are the same inside ur xbox as the guys who moaning. plus the problem might be to do with how they have it setup etc. or they got a faulty xbox just coz u got falcon dont mean ur xbox aint going to brake, its not a guratnee over rrod etc. it just helps protect it a little more towards it but u can still get hard ware problems stuff like this belongs in the xbox faults sticky at the top really not in new threads coz they get loads like this every day and they usually get locked

i dont have mine verticle just so i dont know it over and break a disc. but i bet theys no links to microsofts websites saying you can put them this way. if it was a problem they wud of told everyone to not put it side ways, they even put rubber feet on the side and they didnt put them there just for decoration. i think its better horizontal but i dont know any one who attributes they xbox breaking due to overheating to this, theys heat vents on the bottom as well so no matter which way ur covering one unless u raise it off the surface. only people i know sick they put it verticle are those who knock it over and broke something due to they own fault

Testing the temp of the air coming out the back is meaningless - the place it overheats is the chip itself, and you can't check that temp without opening the case and voiding your warranty.

On my PC I can use software to monitor the temp of the chip and that is usually much hotter than the air blowing out the back. So if a console is blowing out air at 40-50 Celsius, it is safe to assume that the temp of the chip is hotter.

I dont know how you can tell if its overheating, all I do know is that when I touch the back of my Falcon chip xbox it feels suprisingly cool. My old xbox was hot to the touch.
