   Microsoft keeps improving the 360, making it more reliable, cooler, and quieter. Those of us, like me, that got their 360 before even the Zephyr mod came out are probably getting quite pissed at all this. . . Like me. . .   But that was okay. . . I got over the fact that they cooled down the system and even added in more visual features that I wish I had.

   After that, they released Falcon, which is an improvement on the cooling performance by replacing the big processor with a smalled 65nm processor with the same processing power.. . once again I got over the fact that I had the inferior system simply because I was one of the early supporters and users of the 360. . .I felt my self "1337" because I had such an old system.

   Now, on the market is the "Jasper," which replaced the still 90nm GPU with the smaller 65nm GPU, this is of course a logical step in this systems evolution.  This increase in system reliability will most likely bring in some more followers that were afraid of the 360's legendary RRoD, and once again I will get over not having it as long as my RRoD warranty is still alive and kicking.

   Then, in the future (2010ish), they are speaking of bringing in a system change that will revolutionize the 360. This change in system specs will be called "Valhalla" and it will combine the CPU with the GPU into a single super powered 65nm Processor.  This change will mean only one cooling system will be necessary.  Thus eliminating a lot of the noise, improving reliability, reducing RRoD, and reducing the PRICE. . .again. By this time I am guessing that I will have replaced my 360 with a new one and will most likely have the Jasper setup. . .

   All of this is fine and dandy, except for when you get to Opus.  Instead of just realizing that it is all their fault and completely disposing of the follies. . . they are going to take the Xenon cases and put Falcon parts inside it. . . and they will use these to replace Xbox's for people like me who have the old Xenon model.  Which means I will still have no HDMI plug.  I think the proper thing to do would to just give back refurbished Falcon systems. . . anything Xenon should be burned when they get it back. . .

   If feels like to me Microsoft is trying to sweep all of us scarred older customers that may have less than great opinions about the xbox, under a rug to make room for the fresh faces that will make it seem like the problems of the past never existed. . . In my opinion Microsoft still has not repent for what they have done. Sure they extended RRoD warranties to 3 years. . . but all they are doing at this point is replacing crap with more crap.

   How does the internets feel about this?

I feel your pain. I have had 4 reaplacements myself. I politely asked the tech if they would send me a brand new one since I've had all these problems. He said he would try his hardest. Well he didn't try hard enough and I have another old piece of crap...

I got really upset when they installed the hdmi output... luckily my tv supported 1080p through component, but I didn't know that at the moment... As for the noise and reliability... it's all in theory, but if it really does reduce the chance of RRoD, good for them! My first 360 RRoD after 6 months in 2006, the refurbished one they sent me has been going strong till today.

Yep, ive been lucky and only have had to get it replaced once, probably because there was a time in which for several months I didnt play my 360 at all.

 But now my 360 is going to crap again.  the disk tray only opens when it wants to, Fallout 3 sounds like its going to explode inside my Xbox most of the time. . . leaving scratches. . . Because of how intensive it is.  Pretty sure my disk tray is gonna die soon. . .  guess they didnt think about replacing that when I sent it in. . .

Well maybe if you install Fallout 3 with the NXE update that will help alleviate your problems. I know Fable 2 makes my 360 sound like it is working double overtime so I have some fears about that game.

Yeah I am really looking forward to being able to install games on my hard drive. I hope it will fix my Fallout 3 problems. That is. . . If my disk tray will read the whole thing TO install it -.-;

 Seeing as I got mine so long ago I have the 20 GB HDD. . . and not the 60. . . which also ticks me off. . .I will most likely be installing games one at a time. . . lol.

I think the thing saved my xbox all that time before it RROD'd on me was the inter-cooler. . . sure it was loud and people harked on it  but I really do think it was more good for the system then bad. . . less heat meant less warping of the motherboard. . . thus saving it from the Red ring for over a year.

I had the Xenon but I got red ring of death (surprise). I think I have the Jasper or something now because the whole 360 feels different. It has also become quieter:)

My Xenon just died (bought it at launch). A pity. It was a great box, quite the trooper. The problem arose when I called Xbox... they failed to send me my printable shipping document, then hung up on my (supposedly by mistake) when I called back. I'm pretty annoyed at this point. I was considering upgrading to the elite, but now I'm considering a PS3, in all seriousness.

Im freaking pissed right now. I just found out my new 360 is a refurbished Xexon. My HDMI cable port looked like its been used before.it has 16.5 A and has 203 W. I had an arcade in 2007 and modded it to play burnt games and then it got rrod in 2009 of september cause i think it was because of the mod. I take good care of my item like disc and especially the xbox360.then i bought it from gamestop and it sayed manufactured in 2008-08-16. Wow man i think microsoft just wanted extra cause you cheap bastards. I should have bought a ps3 to play with my older brother like he said. Damn. Im mad.... :(

First off, why did you revive a year old thread. Second off, shame on you for modding your Xbox to play stolen games.
