We just got HD TV put in and they have gone HD-happy and looking for HD tvs. And I asked for one and they said that I could get one, too!!!!!

Those days are long gone for me. I'm older and independent now and I went HD happy awhile ago and neither of them are to this day. :P

Same here. 52" LG widescreen. Never thought I'd see the day where my TV is superior to that of my father's. Its not like he can't afford it but he's pretty old now and probably can't tell the difference anymore.

The reason hd tvs are so cheap is becaz that the whole 'high definition' thing is going to be dropped by christmas as these tv's wont be able to few the next quality generation

I bought my own after I moved out of my folks house cause they'd never get one. Hell my parents only upgraded to DVDs about a year ago haha.

I still remember last year, my first semester of college, when I put down $750 of my own savings for my 32" LCD 720p native 1000:1 contrast ratio. Pretty good deal for back then, though I'd love one of those sweet a$$ Samsung's. My TV blows my parent's TV out of the water though hehe.
